Moong Dal Pakoda (skinned split green gram fitters) is a perfect tea time snack. It’s crunchy from outside and soft from inside. Serve this delicious pakoda with green chutney or ketchup. I made sweet and spicy tomato salsa to serve it with.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 3 to 4 chopped green chili’s
  • 1 Tbsp cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp kasoori methi
  • 1/2 Tbsp garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp ginger
  • 1 Tsp dry coriander seeds
  • 1 Tsp fennel seeds
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

 

STEPS TO FOLLOW :

Step 1: First, wash moong dal and soak it for 5 to 6 hours. Then grind the dal into a smooth batter with no water, if needed, add 1 Tbsp water. Now take the batter in a bowl and mix the batter constantly for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Once your batter is fluffy add onions, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and all the dry spices, mix it well. Now fry them in hot oil until they are golden brown.

Step 3: Serve them hot with your favorite chutney and ketchup up.
