Palak Paneer is a vegetarian dish originating from the Indian subcontinent. Paneer(Indian soft cheese) and Fresh spinach cooked with ginger, garlic, garam masala, and other spices. Palak Paneer may be called Green Paneer or Saag Paneer in some restaurants in the United States and Canada. This is my version of delicious Palak Paneer.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 2 cups chopped fresh spinach
  • 1 cup paneer cubs
  • 1 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup Tomato sauce or 3/4 cup chopped Tomato
  • 1 Tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 Tbsp chopped ginger
  • 2 chopped green chili’s
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 4 Tbsp Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 Tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp garam masala
  • 1/2 Tbsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro for garnishing

 

STEPS TO FOLLOW :

Step 1: First, heat the oil and butter. Now add garlic, ginger, green chilies, and chopped onions and cook it for about 3 minutes.

Step 2: After that add all the dry spices, salt, and Tomato sauce, and mix it well. Cover and cook it for about 3 to 4 minutes. Now add fresh chopped spinach and cook it for about 5 minutes in again.

Step 3: Once everything is cooked well and oil starts to separate add milk, cream, and mix it well. Cover it and cook it for about 2 minutes on medium heat.

Step 4: Finally, Turn off the stove and garnish with cilantro. Serve it hot with your favorite paratha or rice.

 

Tips :

1. Adjust red chili powder and green chilies according to your spice level.
2. You can keep this Subji in the refrigerator for 3 days. Add some milk before reheating it.
